The Yard

For this courtyard I cut out one side of the wall and built a broken wall with bricks to create a sense of fragmentation. I whitewashed the corners with broken bricks and sprinkled grass dust. Finally I poured on resin, trying to create the appearance of standing water. I also added branches wrapped in wire to the yard, but I thought it looked a bit fake and for the next production I think I could use a thinner wire and glue on leaves perhaps a little better. For the walls I covered them with a layer of gesso, then also used watercolour to create shades of green, slowly layering them on layer by layer. I painted traces of mould, water stains etc. I painted the water stains too heavily this time, they were not natural enough and I think that next time I can paint them in different shades to make them more realistic.
